What is too fancy for a black tie wedding?
I am going to a evening, black-tie wedding in May. My search for a dress has been quite the challenge due to a rather large scar on my back and hint of a post pregnancy belly. I asked the bride what what would she like to see her female guests wearing, and she suggested a floor length gown, costume jewelry, and a pretty wrap. I have purchased a dress, but I am just a little concerned is COULD possibly be too fancy…

Oh! I forgot to add that the dress I bought is actually in a brilliant blue color….not black! Thank you all for all the replies, I feel much more confident of my choice. Also, it may be a little low cut, but the wedding is not being held in a church, nor do I have large breasts…so it’s really a little less revealing on me.
What a beautiful and tasteful dress and it will camoflage the babybump so nicely. This is not to fancy for black tie. Floor length and mid calf length are perfectly acceptable. The way the neckline is made, all you need are some chandelier earrings to match and a pretty cocktail bag.
