Theatrical Costume Maker Jobs??
Hey my friend has done a fashion design course at Uni and also some other courses (pattern making), she really wants a job doing Theatrical Costumes…Anyone know of a good place to look (i.e Companies or websites).
Contact details would be appreciated…. and Sydney area is prefferable.

I don’t know about your area, but in general professional regional theaters and summer stocks usually have fully staffed costume shops.
Construction and design are usually two different areas, most shop workers are working on someone Else’s designs.
The entry level positions are stichers, then cutters/drapers, and finally the shop foreman.
Please be aware that costumes for the stage are constructed different then ready to wear or high fashion.
