Medieval Dress: Mark of Richness
Today, in this fashion conscious age, where different types of dresses and clothing are available, numerous people want to dress like medieval kings, queens, etc. Without any doubt, medieval dress takes on a distinctive fashion of its own, and now with a variety of great costumes available with quality authentic styles; one can easily feel like a medieval person. If being a knight is your wish, then there are a number of medieval dresses available in the market. In fact, at that time, medieval dress was classified in accordance with the social values of citizens.

Medieval dresses came into way of life in AD 476 after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. However, the style of those dresses was according to the social status of the people and different from region to region. The kings, queens, ministers and rich people wore clothes that reflected their high status in the public; while peasants wore clothes as per their budgets.
And as the time progressed, the dresses began to change by a long way. Major changing came in to women’s dressing, which changed superficially with waistlines and necklines moving up and down and sleeves interchanged between loose and tight-fitting. Moreover, a few garments were considered to be a mark of status for women who belonged to the upper classes. Rich materials, brighter colors, elaborate garments Surcoats, long jackets, etc were all the part of dressing in the middle ages. Women at medieval time also preferred to dress in gowns with an array of headdress to make a mark. Kings, queens, and other rich people were also known to import clothing such as patterned prints, silk cloth and bleached linen; while the people who belonged to the poorer part of the society wore ordinary wool and used colorful borders that were woven into the fabric.
Medieval dresses for men generally consist of tunic, trousers, breeches, etc that are the best way to understand the life-style and culture as well as fashion of that period, since they precisely represent the true depiction of the society of medieval period. The Medieval period with the people and their dresses had glorious stories to boast about as well as gruesome pasts and secrets.
