Make Costume Wings

How do I make fairy wings without wire?
I’m trying to make a fairy costume for Halloween, and I have MOST of the parts of my costume. I still need to make my wings, however, i don’t have any wire that I can use. I don’t want to go buy any wire. I’d really like some alternative way besides paper wings. I have the cloth for the wings, but no sturdy framework to hold it in place. What can I use??
Also, does anyone have any other tips for the costume? What are the main parts that I need to make sure I have?
I don’t think you need to buy wire….just use wire coat hangers. Find a rounded object to help you shape the wire and twist everything together with pliers.
Another suggestion – although I have not tried it – is to use several layers of tissue paper cut into the shape of wings with extra paper pinched together to give it some volume. Fluff it, shape it and then spray with starch (like you would use to iron clothes) – not a heavy layer.
