Where would I find a Harry Potter robe/costume?
I wanted to dress up as Tonks or Luna for the 7th Book Party at my local chapters.. but I can’t find any good items to use for a costume. I can’t buy online, anyone know of stores. [i really want a robe.]
I think your best bet will be to go to a few thrift stores and hunt down some clothing items. Buying a costume online(which you already said was out of the question) or at a costume shop is going to be terribly pricey, but it might be one of the few places you can find a wizarding-ish robe.
Dressing as Luna should be easy without it, though! you just need to find a tie and scarf in Ravenclaw colors to go with a jumper, blouse, and skirt! You could even make your own with fabric from a sewing store!
Now as for Tonks, she’s a Metamorphmagi! You could get away with everyday clothes and a Tonks nametag! (Really, I’m not sure what Aurors wear or if they even have specific uniforms…can’t help you there I’m afraid…)
But as for me, i just need a new jumper and some fabric to make the tie out of in Gryffindor colors… can’t believe I’m 21 and dressing up!
