Jewelry has become an essential part of most of our lives. This is more so for women than it is for men. Jewelry is often an expression of your own personal sense of style, beliefs, desires and you place in life. Although this may seem superficial, jewelry does us one feel good about ourselves. This may be just because of the physical attributes of the jewelry and the way it enhances our appearance, or because it triggers a happy memory associated with acquiring that particular piece – perhaps it was a gift from a loved one, or something that you just bought for yourself because you liked it the moment you laid your eyes on it! Inexpensive costume jewelry such as a pretty fashion necklace is a good way to express your fun-loving free spirit. It does not need to be something expensive such as a set of precious stones set in gold. Even using plastic jewelry that is made well and is trendy can be a great fashion accessory for a girl’s night. For a little more glitter and sparkle, consider costume jewelry made from inexpensive materials such as silver plate and cubic zirconia. You can get that much coveted look of diamonds without the staggering price tag!
Perhaps the most important aspect of fashion jewelry is that it must be trendy, and meet the current fashion designs that are style. For example, big and chunky beaded necklaces are all the rage right now. The beads may be crafted from synthetic materials such as plastic or Lucite. Another popular line includes natural stones that occur commonly and are relatively inexpensive. Agates, jasper, and onyx are some of the natural stones that come to mind. A more contemporary trend is focused on more earthy and environmentally friendly materials. In this line of costume jewelry, necklaces with brightly colored wooden beads, and hand painted wood bangle bracelets continue to remain very popular.
Bracelets in a wide range of styles can enhance your appearance and add a bit of style to any outfit. Gold is rarely used in fashion bracelets because of the high cost. However, silver plated bracelets, or even sterling silver bracelets are quite common. A fine silver or metallic chain can add sparkle and elegance to the female wrist. A more chunky chain link bracelet with larger links and thicker cable made from either copper or stainless steel is more suitable for a male wrist. For the classic feminine look, nothing quite does it like a freshwater pearl bracelet. A single strand of pearls is well suited for a simple look. Multi strand cuff bracelets are more opulent and dressy.
