How should I do my make up with a 50s vintage hawaiian dress?
I found this great 50s hawaiian dress that I want to wear to a picnic next week. It’s dark blue with bright red flowers and the cut looks like this: http://www.poshgirlvintage.com/images/D146%20%20%20.jpg
All my accessories are red to pull out the color in the dress, except for my glasses which are blue. I’ve been trying to figure how to do my hair and makeup though. I’m leaning towards a classic pinup look, but I’m concerned it will look too much like a costume. How can I rock a 50s vintage look without being too over the top?
Curl your hair and pin it up would be good. And remember to insert a flower fake or alive on the side of the head. You can also go for the Hepburn style in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
